Chris Green-Armytage has built up a formidable reputation as a piano teacher.

He does much of his teaching at his studio near Dereham in Mid-Norfolk. Students from around the world, including Europe, Scandinavia, the US and Canada, India, China and Japan have come to him for lessons, as well as pupils from closer to home.

He teaches at all levels from beginners to professional pianists. Many of his adult pupils are themselves teachers of piano.

“For the past 15 years, I have witnessed Chris teach our students at the School of Music, UEA with utmost commitment, dedication and enjoyment. He has taught, nurtured and mentored students of all levels; and has been able to realise their full potential and bring them to a high level of achievement both musically and technically.”

Sharon Choa, Director of Music & Senior Lecturer, School of Music, University of East Anglia

"I would whole heartedly recommend you to anyone who wants the best piano teacher.
The way in which you inspire and encourage her is worth its weight in gold. Her ability and her understanding have been changed beyond measure. She loves her piano lessons and really looks forward to them each and every week. I can't thank you enough.”

Maria Allsebrook, Norfolk

“I only started learning the piano a year ago. It is rare to meet someone who is both a great pianist and a great teacher. You have enabled me to see things with a clarity that is stunning in its simplicity. Your one hour lesson vanishes in moments.”

Ethan Sutaria, Mumbai, India

“Chris’s teaching has hugely expanded my scope as a player. His clear and technical approach has furnished me with a host of new colours, and his breadth of knowledge and engaging teaching style have provided me with a fresh and stylish approach to a range of repertoire. The technical and stylistic security I have gained with Chris has given me confidence and self-assurance in concerts and auditions, and I thoroughly recommend him to anyone studying to play piano at a professional level.”
